Elephants are the Earth's largest land mammals. They have made appearances in the films 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957) and The Valley of Gwangi (1969). In both films, the animals were animated by legendary visual effects artist Ray Harryhausen and met their ends at the hands of monsters.
20 Million Miles to Earth[]
During Ymir's rampage through Rome, it encountered a zoo elephant and the two fought. Although putting up a valiant fight, the elephant was quickly dispatched by Ymir, who had by this point grown to an enormous size.
The Valley of Gwangi[]
After a group of cowboys capture the Allosaurus, Gwangi and bring it to town to be put on show, a well-meaning circus employee sets the beast free. Gwangi proceeds to run amok, attacking and killing a hapless circus elephant in the process.
