In The Golden Voyage of Sinbad

A malevolent beast worshiped as a god by the natives of the lost continent of Lemuria, the creature long-awaited a sacrificial offering. It eventually had its desires fulfilled in the form of a young woman named Margiana, a former slave-girl adopted by Sinbad's crew. As Sinbad and his men, along with his ally the Vizier of Morabia escaped the clutches of the Lemurain natives, they rushed to save Margiana and put an end to Koura's ambitions. The centaur found itself in mortal combat with a griffin, and was evenly matched until Koura intervened by slicing the Griffin's hind leg. The Centaur proceeded to strangle the winged beast to death. Sinbad eventually managed to slay the One-Eyed Centaur by stabbing it in the shoulder with his sword.
