Ray Harryhausen: Titan of Cinema is a celebration of the life of stop motion animation legend Ray Harryhausen written by his daughter Vanessa. It was released in October 2020 by National Galleries of Scotland Publishing, and was a companion work to the Titan of Cinema exhibition hosted by the National Galleries in Edinburgh, Scotland, a feature which was timed to coincide with what would have been Harryhausen senior's 100th birthday.
Overview[]
Titan of Cinema offers an overview of Harryhausen's career from the perspective of his only child, Vanessa. Other names in cinema also give their own perspective on Ray's work, including screen dignitaries such as John Landis and Caroline Munro. Told through a specially-selected list of 100 movie props, the book also features a selection of previously-unseen images of a multitude of film props and sets, all drawn from archives held by the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation.
